Sensor 18 Mpix… or almost
If the sensor is announced for 16 Mpix, it is actually equipped with 18 Mpix. Only Panasonic wished to offer the multi aspect - images with format 4/3, 3/2, 16/9 and 1/1 - without too recadrer and thus to lose resolution. It thus offers 16 Mpix into 4/3 and 3/2, 14 Mpix in 16/9 and 12 Mpix into 1/1. Rather not badly, the more so as the sensitivity was re-examined to the rise, passing from 6400 ISO on the GH1 with 12800 ISO. To offer more sensitivity with more pixels is a prowess. It remains to be seen whether Panasonic were not too optimistic.
The sensor is accompanied by a new processor of images Venus Engine VI FHD which is played it processor of PC, with step less than 3 hearts of execution to treat it video and the photograph. Neat video mode
Compared to G2 and G10, the GH2 offers, in addition to the sensor new generation, of the packed vidéos possibilities. New screen, new sight, new autofocus
The screen is the same one as that of the GH2: a rotary and tactile screen. More still than in photograph, the rotary screen offers the much better taken in hand in video, exercise where stability is even more determining than in photograph where only still images are captured. The tactile aspect still adds to this interest since it allows that which films to give a progress report on the subject that it points of the finger.
The electronic sight was well improved and passes from now on to 1,5 Mpix (852 X 600 pixels).
Another innovation relates to the development automatic which should be largely higher than that of the GH1 since the frequency of measurement of image was doubled.
Available to October, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 will cost 999 euros with the basic optics of Panasonic - the 14-42 mm - or 1499 euros with the very good (and very silencer in video) 14-140 Misters.
